Allstate Identity Protection

Director of Design and User Experience

Before I arrived at Allstate Identity Protection, creative projects were requested through slack, team members weren't communicating and business objectives weren't clear. Designers were going in different directions creatively and had no communication with marketing, developers or QA.

In my role, I set out with a multifaceted strategy to enhance our design processes and team effectiveness. My primary objectives included mitigating potential issues, instituting a robust design system, implementing a consistent schedule for usability testing, fostering UX best practices, integrating agile methodologies, boosting team morale, and refining task prioritization

To achieve these goals, I implemented several key initiatives. I established a dynamic Kanban board that seamlessly aligned with our product narratives, enlisted content specialists to collaborate within Figma alongside our design team, developed a comprehensive design system capable of leveraging Allstate's react library, and introduced daily standup meetings and collaborative design sessions.

The outcome of these efforts was the transformation of our design organization into a well-oiled machine, capable of delivering on time. By fostering a culture of collaboration and implementing streamlined processes, we not only met deadlines consistently but also elevated the quality of our product offerings.

CSAA is a well run design team with many best practices in place. We ran agile team with regular sprints, shared in user research studies and findings, collaborated on a design system and worked through most aspects of user research including heuristics, prototyping flows, designer feedback sessions and card sorting.

After a short time I was promoted to Creative Director of Design System to lead the creation of an online design system and pattern library. I defined the Information Architecture of the site and creative style of elements.
